About Us
The Lions Club of Burlington, chartered in 1925, holds the distinction of being the city’s first service organization and the third Lions Club established in Canada. Over the past century, the Club has grown from 20 founding members to become a pillar of community support and civic engagement. Their property at Lions Park, acquired in 1929, is dedicated to public service and shared community use. Today, they continue to deliver meaningful programs from this founding base, including long-standing events such as the Burlington Farmers’ Market and the Festival of Lights.
Rooted in the global Lions motto “We Serve,” the Burlington Lions have donated over $1.3 million back into the community over the past 15 years. Their strategic priorities include strengthening youth programs, supporting healthcare initiatives, advancing community projects, and fostering partnerships that increase their impact. From vision care and eyeglass recycling to scholarships, food bank support, and large-scale community events, the Lions Club of Burlington remains deeply committed to enriching the lives of residents across the city.
